Field Notes in Watercolor
This collection features watercolor & ink illustrations inspired by the plants, wildlife, and quiet details of Oklahoma’s natural landscapes. Each piece begins as a hand-painted study, created from observation and appreciation for the living world that surrounds us. These prints are offered as a way to bring a small piece of the Oklahoma’s beauty and wonder into everyday spaces.
Often beginning from my nature photography, these illustrations begin as quiet studies of the natural world around me. Working in watercolor allows me to slow down and closely observe the details of native plants, insects, birds, and other wildlife that share the Oklahoma landscape. Through this practice, I hope to celebrate the beauty and diversity of the living world and encourage a deeper sense of curiosity, care, and connection with the land we call home.
These works are small tributes to the plants and creatures that share our home, and to the quiet practice of paying attention.
